The Certificate of Proficiency in Middle Eastern Studies is an interdisciplinary certificate that provides students the opportunity to study the Middle East in-depth by combining existing course offerings from several disciplines.
The 12-hour certificate will provide opportunities not only for UA Little Rock students but also for individuals and professionals from the local community who are interested in learning and advancing their understanding of the Middle East region.
The certificate will provide students with a deeper understanding of the historical, cultural, social, and political environment in the Middle East. It will offer a foundation for graduate work that prepares students as they pursue their work as scholars and/or professionals of Middle Eastern Studies.
The certificate will help students prepare and tackle job opportunities in business, government, and the nonprofit sector related to the Middle East and/or immigrants from the region.
If you would like to learn more about the Certificate, please contact the coordinator, Dr. Simon Hawkins.
