Sheena Howell named director of development for Business College
Sheena Howell, who has worked as director of development for Trojan Athletics at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock for the past year, has been named director of development and external relations for UALR’s College of Business.
“I am pleased to have Sheena join us. I had the opportunity to work with her when she was a marketing student and during her time with Trojan athletics. As a graduate of our program, she will bring a unique perspective to our community, friends, and donors,” said Dr. Jane P. Wayland, Stephen Harrow Smith dean of the College of Business.
As director of athletic development, Howell raised more than $325,000 for SpectaUALR, the department’s major annual fundraiser. She also launched a campaign to support women’s basketball, which raised more than $115,000 in less than two months.
Howell spent two years in the UALR Department of Athletics as the Trojans’ director of sales. In that position she cultivated relationships with donors, oversaw ticket sales and season ticket renewals, and created marketing plans, while also serving as a liaison for the UALR Alumni Association.
During two years with the QBOT company, Howell maintained and managed client relations with more than 40 college campuses while consulting with local and national businesses to build advertising platforms. She raised brand awareness of QBOT and also sold the mobile marketing platform to local and national businesses.
Howell, a UALR alumna with a degree in business administration and an emphasis in marketing, graduated cum laude in 2011. She was a member of the UALR track and field team and Beta Gamma Sigma business honor society. She currently serves on the UALR Lettermen’s Board.
