UALR to host EARTHtalk! lecture Oct. 19

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock will host a public lecture detailing how meteor impacts and their craters can be used to determine the age of planets and other objects in the solar system. 

Steven Jaret, a geosciences doctoral candidate at Stony Brook University, will deliver his free lecture, “How to Date the Planets,” at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, in the auditorium of the UALR Engineering and Information Technology building. His speech is a part of the UALR EARTHtalk! lecture series.

Jaret earned a bachelor’s degree in geology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and a master’s degree in earth and planetary science from Harvard University. His research focuses on planetary materials and geochemistry.
