UA Little Rock Theatre Department announces 2017-18 line-up

University of Arkansas at Little Rock faculty, staff, and students are invited to join the Department of Theatre, Arts and Dance for its four stage productions of the 2017-18 performance season.

The first production, “The All Night Strut,” will be staged Wednesday, Oct. 11, through Sunday, Oct. 15, in the University Theatre. Attendees will take a trip down memory lane, enjoying songs and dance from the 1930s and 40s.

The fall dance performance, Dance Harvest 2017, will run from Thursday, Nov. 16, to Sunday, Nov. 19. Distinguished faculty and guest artists will perform center stage in the University Theatre with modern, jazz, and ballet styles of dance.

The Theatre Department hopes to spark conversation with its spring performance of An Octoroon, a theatrical tale of race in present-day America. Performances will take place Wednesday, Feb. 21, through Sunday, Feb. 25, in the Haislip Theatre.

The final production of the season will be the annual spring dance concert, BodyWorks 2018. Students whose work was selected for presentation at the American College Dance Association Conference, along with faculty members and guest artists, will perform Thursday, April 19, to Sunday, April 22.

Most performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. Dance Harvest 2017 and BodyWorks 2018 will have performances that begin at 7 p.m. All Sunday shows will begin at 2:30 p.m.
