“Equinox” now taking submissions
For the first time, the student-run publication “Equinox” is offering editorial consultation.
Through Nov. 1, students may submit their writing as a draft and receive feedback from the magazine’s editorial staff before sending a final version. While there’s no guarantee reviewed works ultimately will be accepted for publication, staff members hope to help students polish their writing before the final Jan. 15 deadline.
Writers and artists may submit fiction, poetry, art, and drama. All UALR students of any major are encouraged to submit by completing the online form.
“Equinox” awards prizes for the best submissions in the categories of poetry, fiction, and art each year.
Save the date
A launch party for the 2015 edition will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Oxford American building in Little Rock. Students published in the last “Equinox” issue will conduct a reading from the journal, and selected student art will be on display.
In addition, launch attendees are encouraged to participate in a Halloween costume competition. Free snacks and wine, for those 21 and older, will be offered. The event is free and open to the public.
“Equinox” is a journal of contemporary literature and art at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. The publication creates an annual showcase of visual art, poetry, fiction, and drama.
