UALR accepting applications, donations for holiday food basket drive
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock Staff Senate is accepting donations for UALR families in need to receive a free holiday meal basket.
The Staff Senate’s Helping Hands project provides holiday meal baskets for UALR students and employees who would otherwise not be able to provide a traditional holiday dinner for their families.
Items needed include stuffing mix, cornbread mix, cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, chicken broth, macaroni and cheese, green beans, green peas, black eyed peas, corn, rice, canned potatoes, canned yams, cranberry sauce, cake mix and frosting, Kool-Aid, and nonperishable juices. Donations will be accepted until Dec. 9.
Donation boxes are posted in the following locations at UALR:
- College of Business, first floor atrium
- Engineering and Information Technology building, hallway near the first floor elevator
- Fine Arts Building, second floor in the Department of Art and Design
- Ottenheimber Library, first floor near the front desk
- Stabler Hall, near the ground floor elevator
- Nursing Building, student common area
Applications for those who would like to receive a holiday meal basket will be accepted from Nov. 15-30. Only one application per family will be accepted.
