UA Little Rock law dean named one of the top 10 most influential people in legal education

Law School Dean Michael Hunter Schwartz

Michael Hunter Schwartz, dean of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law, has been named the ninth most influential person in legal education in the Winter 2017 edition of National Jurist

The list, which recognizes innovators and leaders in legal education, includes legal scholars and innovators from across the country. Colleagues cite Schwartz’s passion for education, his published works on legal education, and his humble leadership in the field.

“Dean Schwartz is indeed influential, both as a teacher and as a dean,” said Martin Katz, former dean of the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, who is ranked 18th on this year’s list. “He is known for his powerful focus on what would be best for students, not just at his school, but across the country. And he is one of those rare people who dreams big and also finds ways to make it happen.”

This is the third consecutive year Schwartz has made the list, and the first year he has been in the top 10.
