UA Little Rock ranked top college for nontraditional students
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has been ranked among the top colleges and universities in the nation for adult education.
Great Value Colleges ranked UA Little Rock 13th on its list of the 50 best colleges for adult education for the 2017-18 academic year.
As more and more adults return to the classroom, it’s important for colleges to offer programs and services, such as online courses, an active veterans office, and accelerated programs geared toward nontraditional students who are often balancing full-time jobs and families.
UA Little Rock was highlighted for its great online degree programs; the Student Experience Center, which offers numerous support programs, services, scholarships, and orientations for nontraditional students; and the Non-Traditional Student Program, designed to help adult students reach their educational goals.
The article also notes the Office of Military Student Success, which assists active duty military members, veterans, and their families. UA Little Rock is a military friendly university, which opened the Military Student Success Center in December 2016, where military students can socialize, study, and get information about available resources.
Great Value Colleges ranked the colleges and universities based on a point system utilizing a variety of factors, including affordability, online degree programs, graduate programs, programs and services geared toward nontraditional students, student retention, and student-to-faculty ratio.
