UA Little Rock joins global #GivingTuesday movement
Alumni and friends are invited to support the University of Arkansas at Little Rock during this year’s #GivingTuesday on Nov. 28.
All donations go into the Fund for UA Little Rock, which has been used to assist students in numerous ways in years past. This year, the fund will support students at risk of not graduating due to financial need.
“We are focusing on students who have encountered a financial hardship such as a medical crisis or job loss that puts them at risk of not graduating,” said Mandi Carreiro, associate director of annual giving and alumni membership at UA Little Rock. “Sometimes just a little help can make a huge difference in whether a student drops out or successfully completes their degree.”
This year marks the 90th anniversary of UA Little Rock’s 1927 founding. Anyone who donates $90 or more before 5 p.m. on #GivingTuesday will receive two tickets for the women’s basketball game against Oklahoma that evening. The game starts at 6:30 p.m., and tickets will be at Will Call.
Donations can be made online at https://ualr.edu/giving/product/the-fund-for-ua-little-rock/. In person gifts can be made throughout the day at the Bailey Center or between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Donaghey Student Center.
