Baldwin named director of athletic development
University of Arkansas at Little Rock Athletics has announced the addition of Tyson Baldwin as the Trojans’ director of athletic development, overseeing the fundraising efforts for Little Rock Athletics.
“We are pleased to welcome Tyson as the newest member of Little Rock’s Team,” said Director of Athletics Chasse Conque. “Working closely with our university’s advancement office, he will join a strong external team, led by Associate Athletic Director Eric Silakowski, and enhance our efforts in raising much-needed resources for our student-athletes. Tyson comes highly recommended and brings a wealth of experience, in addition to having deep roots in the state of Arkansas.”
Baldwin comes to Little Rock after spending the past six and a half years on staff at Louisiana Tech, including serving as the director of the Louisiana Tech Athletic Club since 2013. During his time in the position, Baldwin has worked directly on a number of successful fundraising projects, overseeing the campaign that raised over $1.5 million in 2016-17.
His efforts saw the LTAC’s annual fund revenue increase by 50 percent over a five-year period, managing a portfolio of over 200 donors for all annual fund and major gift solicitations. He was a member of the committee that raised $22 million for the new South End Zone football facility, as well as over $18.5 million for a new football press box and suites.
Prior to moving into his role as the director of the LTAC, Baldwin served as a coordinator of Athletic Development for Louisiana Tech from 2012-13, serving as a liaison between the ticket office and the University Foundation. He directed Louisiana Tech’s Lettermen’s Club while overseeing all annual sport-specific fundraising solicitations.
A Monroe, Louisiana, native, Baldwin began his career with The Aspire Group in Ruston, Louisiana, in 2011, working as a sales consultant for Louisiana Tech athletic events.
Baldwin earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville in 2010 before attaining his master’s degree in sport administration from Mississippi State in 2011.
