UA Little Rock accepting applications, donations for holiday food basket drive

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock Staff Senate is accepting donations for UA Little Rock families in need to receive a free holiday meal basket. 

The Staff Senate’s Helping Hands project provides holiday meal baskets for UA Little Rock employees and students who would otherwise not be able to provide a traditional holiday dinner for their families.

Applications for those who would like to receive a holiday meal basket will be accepted until Friday, Nov. 30. Only one application per family will be accepted.

Donation items needed for the food baskets include stuffing mix, cornbread mix, cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, chicken broth, macaroni and cheese, green beans, green peas, black eyed peas, corn, rice, canned potatoes, canned yams, cranberry sauce, cake mix and frosting, Kool-Aid, and nonperishable juices. Donations will be accepted until Monday, Dec. 10.

Donation boxes are posted in the following locations at UA Little Rock:

  • College of Business, first-floor atrium
  • Department of Human Resources lobby
  • Dickinson Hall, first floor
  • Donaghey Student Center, first floor near the Fitness Center entrance
  • The Commons, first floor near the stairs
  • Engineering and Information Technology building, hallway near the first-floor elevator
  • Ottenheimber Library, first floor near the main desk
  • Student Services Center, near the information desk on the first floor

Visit the Staff Senate’s Helping Hands application to fill out an application online or print an application. Printed applications can be submitted to the front desk lobby on the second floor of the Student Services Center.
