ASBTDC offers webinars for small businesses confronting COVID-19

The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center is offering several no-cost webinars to help business owners respond to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Created in response to COVID-19, the “Keep Calm and Small Business On” webinar series began March 19. Recordings of past programs in the series are available on YouTube at tinyurl.com/vtnk4ns. Links to register for each program are available at asbtdc.org/asbtdc-events.

The upcoming webinars include:

  • “Take Your Business Online,” 10 a.m. April 1 – Hear about steps you can take to move business online and keep sales coming.
  • “¡Calma! Continúe con su Negocio,” 2 p.m. April 1 – Get timely tips in Spanish for managing short-term cash flow and adapting your business model.
  • “Connecting to Capital,” 2 p.m. April 2 – The Economic Injury Disaster Loan isn’t the right option for every business. Learn about other capital options.
  • “Applying for SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans,” 2 p.m. April 2 – Many Arkansas small businesses and non-profits are eligible for the Small Business Administration’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program. Learn about program requirements, how to apply and what to expect. ASBTDC will repeat the EIDL webinar each Tuesday and Thursday through April.

Additional webinars are planned on marketing online during COVID-19, the state Quick Action Loan and Community Block Grant programs and other topics. The presentations generally last about 30 minutes, with the rest of the hour devoted to question-and-answer time.

The center, which normally holds seminars and workshops at locations across the state, has cancelled all in-person events for March and April. State Director Laura Fine said offering educational events online was a natural response.

“We know our small businesses have many questions and need help. Through webinars we are able to safely share timely and relevant information Arkansas small businesses need now,” said Fine. “We are having hundreds of people on each webinar and will continue to add topics to meet their needs.”

Arkansas small businesses wanting one-on-one assistance can also get help from ASBTDC.

The center’s statewide network of offices are operating virtually, offering consulting by phone, email or videoconference. To sign up, go to asbtdc.ecenterdirect.com/signup or call 1-800-862-2040.
