UA Little Rock will hold virtual Fall 2020 Commencement Ceremony Dec. 19
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock will honor its spring, summer, and fall 2020 graduates with a virtual commencement ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 19.
“We have made the difficult decision to not hold the traditional in-person commencement exercises for the fall 2020 semester,” said Dr. Ann Bain, provost and executive vice chancellor. “We understand that our students have experienced a trying time. We want to do everything we can to celebrate the dedication and perseverance of our students. This virtual ceremony will commemorate the hard work and accomplishments of our graduating students and give us all a way to celebrate together in a safe way.”
All graduating students will have the opportunity to be recognized individually by having their names and honors announced during the pre-recorded virtual ceremony.
While spring 2020 students graduated with UA Little Rock’s former five-college structure, all graduates in the virtual commencement ceremony will be divided into UA Little Rock’s three new colleges: College of Business, Health, and Human Services; Donaghey College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics; and College of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, and Education.
UA Little Rock graduates will receive emails this fall with instructions on how to have their picture taken and how to participate in the virtual ceremony. The ceremony will be available via YouTube on Dec. 19. A commencement ceremony program will also be available online for students and their families.
