The UA Little Rock Department of World Languages will present a stage reading of “Real Women Have Curves” on Wednesday, April 20, at 6 p.m in the Stella Boyle Smith Performance Hall in the Fine Arts Building.
The play, written by Josefina López, is centered around five Mexican-American women who work in a sewing factory in East Los Angeles, California. The comedy is told from the perspective of Ana, the youngest of the five, who dreams of going to college and becoming a writer.
The play is free and open to the public, and will be performed by students in the U.S. Latino Literature and Cultures class.
