Campaign Dollars Grow Scholars

‘Struggle of the South’ Mural Attracts Grant

The UALR Gallery program has received a $30,000 grant from the National Endowment of the Humanities for a project to photograph and produce a film about the mural by Joe Jones – “The Struggle of the South” – in an effort to rescue and restore the work.

Criminology Theorist Felson to Lecture Feb. 6

Dr. Marcus Felson, co-creator of the criminological theory of routine activities, will inaugurate the UALR Department of Criminal Justice Sheriff Orval Walker Lecture Series from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, in Arkla Room 116 in Ross Hall.

Apply for Private Scholarships by March 1

Thursday, March 1, is the deadline for students to apply for the various privately endowed scholarships, including four separate scholarships offered by the UALR Alumni Association, and college-specific scholarships for students in various majors.

SpectacUALR to Honor Jack Kinnaman

Jack Kinnaman, a 2004 inductee into the UALR Athletics Hall of Fame and one of UALR’s most substantial supporters over the past quarter century, will be the honoree at the Department of Athletics’ fourth annual SpectacUALR on Thursday, Oct. 11, at the Jack Stephens Center.
