The University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Business has received an extension of its accreditation from AACSB, the world’s largest business education alliance.

“Congratulations to the School of Business,” Provost Ann Bain said. “The School of Business has earned reaccreditation thanks to the dedication, expertise, and commitment of the leadership team, faculty, and staff.”

AACSB International Board of Directors approved its reaccreditation of the School of Business Jan. 26 following a recommendation from the Peer Review Team. For more than a century, AACSB accreditation has been synonymous with the highest standards in business education. Today, a total of more than 950 institutions across 60+ countries and territories have earned AACSB accreditation in business.

“AACSB congratulates each institution on their achievement,” said Stephanie Bryant, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB. “Every AACSB-accredited school has demonstrated a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curricula development, and student learning. The intense peer-review process exemplifies their commitment to quality business education.”

UA Little Rock’s School of Business offers students the opportunity to study in eight undergraduate disciplines, four undergraduate certificate programs, and five graduate certificate programs. A Master of Science (STEM) degree in business information systems and analytics and an MBA degree also are available.

“Extension of accreditation is the result of years of hard work by dedicated faculty and staff along with the success of our current students and alumni,” said Dr. Robert Mitchell, director of the School of Business. “The leadership, faculty, and staff of the School of Business worked cooperatively in achieving this accomplishment. A special thanks goes to Dr. Sonya Premeaux, associate dean, who coordinated the reaccreditation effort.”

News of the reaccreditation comes just after U.S. News & World Report ranked UA Little Rock 32nd in its 2023 list of “Best Online Undergraduate Business Programs.”
