Fostering Innovation in Materials Research

The Materials Research Society (MRS) Student Chapter at UA Little Rock was formed on May 16, 2023, to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and cutting-edge research in materials science and engineering. Our chapter serves as a hub for students, researchers, and faculty to engage in research on innovative materials, share knowledge, and drive advancements in the field. We support students across various disciplines – physics, chemistry, geology, biology, engineering, information science, computer science, and more – providing resources and networking opportunities that inspire the next generation of materials researchers.

Our Mission

We strive to:

  • Encourage interdisciplinary research and collaboration among students and faculty.
  • Provide educational resources and networking opportunities for students interested in materials science.
  • Support students in developing the skills and knowledge needed to excel in careers related to materials research.
  • Facilitate collaborations with universities and organizations, both locally and globally.
