AAWL Bowen Student Chapter Endowed Book Award
The recipient shall be the elected incoming President of the AAWL Bowen Student Chapter and must be in good standing with the Bowen School of Law.

Arkansas Association of Defense Counsel – Ben Core Honorary Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student entering the final year who exhibits excellence in trial advocacy. A particular emphasis on civility and high ethical standards is required.

Bell and Company Endowed Law Scholarship
Awarded to a Bowen School of Law student with advanced academic standing. Preference will be given to students who plan on pursuing non-legal careers in business or nonprofit settings. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered.

Ben J. Altheimer Scholarship
Awarded to a Bowen School of Law student who is a Jefferson County resident and resides north of the Arkansas River. Scholarship is renewable but student must reapply annually.

Blakley E. Miles Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a Bowen School of Law student to provide assistance for any education related expenses, including but not limited to tuition, books, fees, and room and board, and whose work will represent the ideals held by Blakley E. Miles during her lifetime.

BLSA Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a Bowen School of Law student to provide assistance for any education related expenses, including but not limited to tuition, books, fees, and room and board.

Bowen Law School Part-Time Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a part-time student who demonstrates financial need and academic accomplishment. Preference will be given to students who work a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Brenda Simpson Book Award
Awarded to a non-traditional student in good standing. Students must be currently serving in the active duty or reserve component of the U.S. Armed Services; a veteran or retired member of the active or reserve component of the U.S. Armed Services; a spouse or dependent of an active duty, reserve component, or retired member; or a spouse or child of a veteran of the U.S. Armed Services. Financial need will be strongly considered.

Brett Gary Blakney Endowed Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time first year law student. Financial need will be strongly considered.

Chad Farris Law Scholarship
Preference given to a continuing full-time or part-time student with interest in labor law. A demonstrated desire to work with those traditionally disenfranchised may also be considered. Academic ability and financial need will be considered.

Dean John Hugh Carmichael Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to full-time or part-time, second-year or third-year law students included in the upper one-half of the class and who demonstrate financial need. Students in the B+ to C+ range are specifically targeted.

Dean Michael Hunter Schwartz Class of 2017 Endowed Book Award
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student in good standing. Applicants shall be a rising 2L. Financial need will be considered. The recipient must have reflected Bowen’s core values: access to justice, public service, and professionalism while attending William H. Bowen School of Law and must have a minimum of 75 hours of community service logged with the Dean’s office between matriculation date and the date of application.

Dean Michael Hunter Schwartz Endowed Book Award
Awarded to an entering 1L student Financial need will be considered. Awarded to an entering 1L student who may not qualify for other scholarships based on merit available to entering students.

Dean R. Morley Pulaski County Bar Foundation Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student in good standing and no preference will be given to upperclassmen. Preference will be given to applicants who are residents of Pulaski County and/or who possess a present intent to practice law in Pulaski County. Financial need will be strongly considered.

Dickerson Law Firm for the Debtor Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student in good standing. Applicants must have completed or be enrolled in a Bankruptcy related class as preference will be given to students who have a desire to pursue a legal career in serving debtors in Bankruptcy. Preference also is given to students with financial need. This scholarship is renewable, but the student must reapply annually. In addition to submitting a scholarship application, students must also submit an essay. Contact the Admissions Office at Bowen School of Law for additional information on the essay topic.

Donna S. Galchus Endowed Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time female student majoring in law, with a GPA of 3.0 or above, who is interested in pursuing a career in labor and employment law. Financial need will be strongly considered.

Edward L. Wright Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a deserving law student based on scholastic achievement.

Gill Ragon Owen, PA Annual Law Scholarship
Awarded to a 2L or 3L student in good standing of the William H. Bowen School of Law. Recipient must have clerked or plans to clerk for th Gill Ragon Owen Firm, financial need will be strongly considered.

Governor Carl Bailey Scholarship
Awarded to a current student who demonstrates financial need, academic ability, leadership, and a record of service.

Governor Sidney McMath Scholarship
Awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need, academic ability, leadership, and a record of service.

Guy Moore Scholarship
Awarded to a deserving law student based on need, accomplishment, and scholastic achievement. Recipient need only be in good standing after one semester at UA Little Rock School of Law.

H. Maurice Mitchell Leaders in Law Scholarship
The recipient shall be the chairperson of the Moot Court Board. The scholarship is not renewable and is available only one-time.

Harper and Mary Boyer Harb Scholarship
Awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need, academic ability, leadership, and a record of service.

Hispanic Law Student Association Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student who is a second or third year law student. Preference shall be given to students who are members of HLSA and have financial need. Grades will not be taken into account as long as the student is in good standing with the school and HLSA.

Jack Morton Wilhelm Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student of law. Academic standing and financial need will be considered in the selection process.

Jack Wagoner III Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time law student with a minimum GPA of 3.25. Must be a member in good standing of the Young Democrats Club. Applicants must have completed their first year of law school. The scholarship is renewable, but the recipient must reapply annually.

James E. Baine Scholarship
Awarded to members in good standing of the McClellan Senate of the Delta Theta Phi International Law Fraternity.

James W. Spears Scholarship
Awarded to students who are accepted into a Legal Clinic course.

Jewell Minnis Scholarship
Awarded to a first-year law student with a baccalaureate degree from UA Little Rock.

John A. Fogleman Scholarship
Awarded to students at the UA Little Rock School of Law who are members in good standing of the Delta Theta Phi Fraternity or its successor. Financial need, scholarship, and leadership are also considered.

John F. Lovell, Jr. Endowed Law Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time law student who is in good standing with the William H. Bowen School of Law. Student must have completed the first year of law school and intend to practice in a rural Arkansas community; student must also have a keen interest in trial advocacy. A statement of 500 words or less must be submitted describing the applicant’s personal experience of and commitment to rural Arkansas, as well as their interest in trial advocacy. Financial need will be strongly considered.

John T. Haley Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need and possesses the necessary character traits and ability that would qualify him/her as eligible to be admitted to the practice of law upon graduation and passing the bar examination.

John N. Stern Scholar
Awarded to members of the entering class who demonstrate attributes of intelligence, initiative and an enthusiasm for learning.

Josh E. McHughes Commerical Bar Review and Bar Application Annual Law Scholarship
Awarded to a student who has completed their program and has applied for graduation. Financial need will be strongly considered.

Judge George Howard Jr. Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time law student. Preference will be given to second & third year law students, students who may be the first in their family to pursue a graduate degree, or students who have overcome significant economic hardship. Students must maintain a 3.25 GPA to receive the award.

Judge Oren Harris Scholarship
Awarded to a continuing student who demonstrates financial need, academic ability, leadership, and a service record.

Judge Pat Mehaffy Scholarship
Awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need, academic ability, leadership, and a record of service.

Medlock Law Firm Book Award
Awarded to a 2L or 3L student in good standing with the William H. Bowen School of Law. Financial need will be strongly considered.

Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates and Woodyard Scholarship
Awarded to the elected chairperson of the UA Little Rock William H. Bowen Law School Moot Court Board.

Monterrey & Tellez Endowed Book Award
Awarded to a full or part-time student in good standing with the William H. Bowen School of Law and HLSA. Financial need will be strongly considered. Applicants must submit a statement of 500 words or less describing their involvement in the Hispanic community and commitment to HLSA.

Nancy Hall Bailey Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a non-traditional student at the UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law. Academic accomplishment and total financial need will be strongly considered. This scholarship is renewable, but the recipient must reapply annually.

Paula J. Casey Endowed Trial Competition Scholarship
Awarded to students selected to represent UA Little Rock Willam H. Bowen School of Law at Trial Advocacy competitions.

Professors Sarah Howard Jenkins and Kenneth S. Gallant Endowed Book Award
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student in good standing of the William H. Bowen School of Law and who has received the top paper in Conflict of Laws.

R. Julian Glover Scholarship
Awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need, academic ability, leadership, and a record of service.

Saint Thomas More Society Book Award
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student in good standing who has completed the first two years (for full-time students) or three years (for part-time students). Applicants must provide an essay of fewer than 1500 words on “How My Faith Will Affect My Practice”. Preference will be given to students who have a family or personal affiliation with a Catholic parish.

Sam Laser Endowed Law Scholarship
Awarded to full-time or part-time law students. Preference will be given to third-year law students who wish to pursue a career as a litigation lawyer. Applicants must submit a statement of 300 words or less describing why they should be considered for this scholarship. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered.

Sheffield Nelson Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time student who can demonstrate financial need, scholarship, and leadership.

Stephen Holt Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a non-traditional student in good standing at the UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law. Financial need will be strongly considered.

Student Bar Association Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a 2L or 3L full-time or part-time student who demonstrates financial need. A 500 word or less statement must be submitted describing applicants community service efforts. Preference will be given to students who are recipients of the Dean’s Certificate of Service Award or the Dean’s Certificate of Distinguished Service Award.

Thomas Erskine Downie Memorial Award
Awarded to a student who achieves the highest grade in the Legal Professions course each semester.

UA Little Rock Law School Alumni Association Scholarship
Awarded to a student who can demonstrate financial need, scholarship, and leadership.

Wright, Lindsey & Jennings Scholarship
Awarded to two students who demonstrate financial need, academic ability, leadership, and service record.
