Admission decisions and funding decisions are considered separately, and the number of students admitted is usually much higher than the number of students who are funded. There are a limited number of funding opportunities and funding is not guaranteed to all students.
Graduate Assistantships and Teaching Assistantships
UA Little Rock’s funding for state-supported graduate assistantships and teaching assistantships is administered by the Graduate Institute of Technology. Doctoral students have preference in funding.
Research Assistantships
Funding is available through externally funded research grants. Students should contact the faculty member responsible for the grant to determine eligibility.
Fellowships
A limited number of fellowships are available. These are usually reserved for continuing students rather than new students.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration Graduate Student Researcher Program is accepting student fellowship applications. Applied Science has had a number of GSRP Fellows funded, so consult with your research advisor if you are interested in pursuing this opportunity.
