Build Leadership Skills at UA Little Rock

The Trojan Leadership Fellows (TLF) Program is a year-long leadership development initiative within the Student Experience Center at UA Little Rock. The program brings together a cohort of 35–50 students to strengthen leadership skills, build meaningful connections, and prepare for academic and professional success.
Through mentorship, workshops, and national engagement opportunities, participants develop skills that support academic achievement, personal growth, wellness, and career readiness while strengthening their sense of belonging at UA Little Rock.
Program Experience
The Trojan Leadership Fellows Program reflects UA Little Rock’s commitment to student success and leadership development. Students in the program participate in a structured leadership experience that includes:
- Peer and professional mentorship
- Interactive leadership development workshops
- Networking and professional development opportunities
- Engagement with campus resources and support services
- Participation in national student affairs conferences
By combining mentorship, leadership training, and professional engagement opportunities, the program helps students grow as leaders while preparing for success at UA Little Rock and beyond.
Who Can Participate
The program is open to all UA Little Rock students, including:
- First-year and transfer students
- Returning and non-traditional students
- Commuter and online students
- Students participating in athletics, scholarships, or other university programs
The experience is primarily in-person, with limited virtual options available for online students. Participants are selected through an application or advisor recommendation process.

Trojan Leadership Fellows may participate in National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) conferences during the spring semester. These events allow students to connect with peers and professionals nationwide, explore leadership topics, and gain exposure to national best practices in student success.
Mentorship and Leadership Development
Mentorship is a core component of the program. Fellows are paired with peer mentors and faculty or staff mentors who provide guidance, support, and leadership coaching throughout the year.
- Students also participate in workshops focused on three key areas:
- Academic Success – study strategies, goal setting, and academic resilience
- Self-Development – leadership skills, confidence building, and career planning
- Wellness and Financial Literacy – financial wellness, resilience, and healthy habits
Students will benefit from partnering with fellow UA Little Rock students who serve as peer mentors in the program, fostering collaboration and leadership development.
Eligibility:
Current UA Little Rock sophomore with 30+ credit hours.
Role:
Mentor students, facilitate discussions twice monthly, attend trainings, and help connect mentees with campus resources.
UA Little Rock faculty and staff are also invited to become mentors.
Eligibility:
Full-time UA Little Rock faculty or staff member with a bachelor’s degree.
Role:
Support student leadership development, attend monthly program events, and present one developmental session during the academic year.
