Liz Harris

In 2018, Liz Harris obtained her juris doctor with honors from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law and received her license to practice law. Among other activities, she served as Notes and Comments Editor for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Law Review and published a student note. She also obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Harris is currently a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Jerome T. Kearney, Chief Magistrate Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas. Before transitioning to her district court federal clerkship, she worked as an attorney for the United States Army Corps of Engineers and clerked at the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. She also served as an AmeriCorps attorney at the Center for Arkansas Legal Services, where she provided free civil legal aid to low-income veterans. After sitting for the bar exam, she clerked temporarily at the Arkansas Court of Appeals while awaiting her exam results.

Harris has enjoyed legal writing thus far. In order to connect with readers’ minds thoroughly, it is essential to write clearly, succinctly, and accurately regardless of the type of legal practice. Harris wholeheartedly believes that writing is an indispensable tool for all lawyers and judges, and she is full of excitement and humility for the chance to assist law students as they work toward learning and mastering the art of legal writing.
