College of Business honors outstanding alumnae, surpasses fundraising goal
The UA Little Rock College of Business recently honored its outstanding graduates during its annual Distinguished Alumni Luncheon, held Oct. 11 at the Little Rock Marriott.
The event, sponsored by Delta Dental, drew 350 attendees and raised more than $51,000.
Phyllis Rogers, senior vice president and chief financial officer of Delta Dental of Arkansas, was honored with this year’s Distinguished Alumnus Award. Rogers graduated from UA Little Rock in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and has spent the past 30 years in the financial services industry. She is also a member of the UA Little Rock College of Business Advisory Council.
“Her work in the community and in the accounting field are an example for all students to emulate,” said Dr. Jane Wayland, the Stephen Harrow Smith Dean of Business.
Rebecca McEarhern, a tax supervisor at JPMS Cox, received the Dean’s Award for Excellence. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2012 and a master’s degree in accounting in 2013. During her time at UA Little Rock, she was on the university’s swimming and diving team and was a founding member of the UA Little Rock College of Business Alumni Board.
“The college is honored to recognize Phyllis and Rebecca and celebrate their successes,” Wayland said. “These outstanding alumnae truly represent our mission.”
