UA Little Rock athletics director signs five-year contract with Trojans
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has renewed the contract of Trojans Athletics Director Chasse Conque in an agreement that keeps Conque with the Trojans through 2022.
Conque has served as UA Little Rock’s director of athletics since Jan. 6, 2015, and has helped lead a resurgence of Trojan Athletics.
“I am most grateful to Chancellor Rogerson for his vote of confidence as well as his continued strong support of Little Rock Trojan Athletics,” Conque said. “Lisa and I are thrilled to call Little Rock home and while we still have much work to do, I am excited about what lies ahead for the university and Trojan Athletics.”
During Conque’s tenure, Little Rock has won a combined 11 team and individual Sun Belt Conference championships as both men’s and women’s basketball have advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament during that span. In both 2015-16 and 2016-17, each Trojan athletic program qualified for their respective Sun Belt Conference post-season tournament, the first time that has happened since UA Little Rock joined the league in 1992.
“Chasse is an amazing athletic director, and we are thrilled we can count on his leadership in athletics over the next five years,” Chancellor Andrew Rogerson said.
Conque’s emphasis on success has extended to the classroom as well, as Little Rock has maintained its position as a leader among both the Sun Belt Conference and its peers in the state of Arkansas. In 2016-17, UA Little Rock’s 14 athletic programs boasted a combined GPA of 3.27, including a record 3.29 GPA in spring 2017. For the past five years, Little Rock has posted the highest graduation success rate of any NCAA Division I institution in the state of Arkansas, graduating 81 percent of Trojan student-athletes.
