A historic season came to an end for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s men’s outdoor track team at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships June 6 at the University of Oregon.

Entering the semifinals with the eighth-fastest seed time in the 4×100-meter relay, Travion Clark, Charles Okeze, Ch’kilas Calhoun and Keshawn Andrews posted a school record of 39.31 seconds and placed 12th overall. Little Rock’s time beat the previous school record of 39.35 set on May 26 at the NCAA West Preliminaries.

The Trojans were just a hundredth of a second off the fourth-fastest time in Sun Belt Conference history, and they tallied the fastest time by a Sun Belt school since 2014.

Two hours after the 4×100, Okeze suited up once again for the third heat of the 200-meter semifinals. Entering the semifinals with the 21st-fastest seed time, Okeze ended his season by finishing seventh in his heat and 20th overall with a time of 20.89 seconds.

The Trojans’ exit from the NCAA Championships concludes the 2017-18 athletic year for Little Rock.
