Daryl Rice named associate vice chancellor of academic affairs
Dr. Daryl Rice has been appointed the associate vice chancellor of academic affairs at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Rice has served in an interim capacity since Feb. 1. As associate vice chancellor, he provides leadership for retention activities and is part of a larger enrollment management team.
He has more than 30 years of experience at UA Little Rock. Rice, who has a Ph.D. from Purdue University, began his career at UA Little Rock as an assistant professor of political theory in the Department of Political Science.
Since then, he has served in various administrative positions, including department chair, associate dean, acting dean, and associate vice chancellor for academic affairs. He returned to teaching during the 2015-16 academic year, and then worked as the interim associate dean for enrollment management, academic programs, and funded research for the College of Social Sciences and Communication.
