The Office of Research Compliance requires faculty, students, and staff actively engaged in research to complete training. Training is offered via the CITI Program or the SECURE Center.
Required CITI Training
The following items can help with completing your CITI training:
- Export Control Training (Required passing score is 80%)
- This training is required if you are traveling to a foreign country, hosting a foreign visitor, or hiring a foreign national.

- Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) Training
- Contact the IACUC chair, Dr. Nawab Ali, for further instruction.
- Visit IACUC for more information.
- Human Subjects Research (Required passing score is 100%)
- This training is required by the Institutional Review Board (IRB). Researchers must complete this training if their research involves human participants.
- Visit IRB for more information.
- Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) (Required passing score is 80%)
- This training is required for researchers seeking federal funding. Completion is also required by the IRB and Export Control.
Creating Your CITI Account
To complete your required CITI training, you will need to create an account with the CITI Program.

Your CITI Program account can be accessed by visiting citiprogram.org.
SECURE Center Training
Do you plan to submit a proposal to NSF, NIH, DOE, DOD, or USDA within the next year? If so, you must complete the SECURE Center Research Security Training Module (CTM).
This training takes approximately 60 minutes to complete. You do not have to complete the training in one sitting. Your progress will be tracked in your web browser.
Once your training is complete, download your certificate of completion and submit it here.
