The Applied Science Ph.D. in Applied Chemistry provides advanced preparation for careers in government, industrial, and academic research. The curriculum is a blend of traditional and non-traditional, innovative courses that reflects the needs of modern chemistry. The UA Little Rock Chemistry Program has research-quality equipment and facilities, gives each student individual attention, and offers high-quality instruction.
Our faculty members pursue vigorous and productive research on a variety of topics, providing graduate students with opportunities to select an area of specialization. Teaching is also required in the program, and graduate students serve as TAs (teaching assistants), most often in freshman level laboratories.
Students work closely with one another and with faculty mentors, creating a spirit of community and cooperation.
