Racheal Adeosun Q&A
How did you get started in the University Career Services profession?
I got started in University Career Services when I joined as a Graduate Assistant. Before this role, my professional experiences had given me an appreciation for how important it is to have the right guidance and support when navigating your career. Joining Career Services gave me an opportunity to bring that perspective into a university setting and
help students prepare for their own professional journeys. I’ve really enjoyed being able to learn from the team while also helping students feel more confident about their next steps.
Describe a “typical workday” in University Career Services.
There really isn’t one typical day because the work changes depending on what is happening on campus. My day may include helping students with resume reviews, responding to questions, supporting career-readiness programs and workshops, preparing for events or career fairs, creating promotional materials, or assisting with day-to-day office tasks. Some days are more student-focused, while others involve planning and preparing behind the scenes. What I enjoy most is that there is always an opportunity to interact with students and contribute to something that can make a difference in their career journey.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, trying new places, and simply taking time to relax and recharge. I also enjoy being involved in community-focused activities and projects that allow me to give back and connect with people.
What is the most interesting place you have ever visited?
Hawaii has been the most interesting place I have ever visited. I loved the beautiful blue beaches, but what really made the experience special was being able to go whale watching and experience the natural beauty of the islands. The people were also incredibly welcoming and friendly. It was one of those trips where I found myself appreciating both the experience and the environment around me.
What do you like best about living in Central Arkansas?
What I like most about living in Central Arkansas is that it feels very family-oriented and peaceful. It is not overly busy, and I really appreciate the quiet, easygoing pace of life. There is a nice balance between having things to do and still being able to slow down and enjoy your surroundings.
