Before & During Your Appointment
Before your appointment, think about the professional opportunities you may pursue. Consider what clothing you already own, the time of year, and changing weather conditions. This can help you identify pieces that will add versatility to your professional wardrobe.
During your appointment, you will receive a brief overview of the Trojan Career Closet. You will have time to browse available items, try on clothing, and make your selections.
Please allow enough time to explore your options and try on different items. The Trojan Career Closet relies on donated clothing, so inventory changes regularly. Specific items, styles, and sizes cannot be guaranteed.
Items Available
The Trojan Career Closet offers a variety of professional clothing and accessories. Available items may include:
- Suits, blazers, dress pants, skirts, dresses, and professional tops
- Dress shirts and blouses
- Professional shoes
- Ties, belts, and other professional accessories
Inventory varies based on availability. Specific sizes, styles, colors, and items are not guaranteed.
Clothing & Visit Guidelines
Students may visit the Trojan Career Closet up to three times per semester and select up to four items per semester. All items are provided at no cost and are yours to keep.
Make the Most of Your Four Items
Think about how each item can work with clothing you already own. Look for versatile pieces that can be combined to create more than one professional look.
Also consider the season and changing weather. Layering pieces, such as a blazer or professional top, can help you prepare for different temperatures and professional settings.
Your four items can create a complete outfit or help you build your professional wardrobe over time. For example:
- Blazer + shirt + pants + tie = 4 items
- Blazer + blouse + pants + accessory = 4 items
- Two-piece suit + shirt + tie = 4 items
A two-piece suit counts as two items toward the four-item semester limit.

Final Selections
Take time to make sure your selections work for you before leaving the Career Closet. All selections are final, and items cannot be returned.
If you later bring an item back, it will be considered a new donation and must meet current donation guidelines. Donating an item back does not restore that item to your four-item semester allowance.
Cancellations & Late Arrivals
Plans can change. If you cannot attend your appointment, please cancel or reschedule through Handshake as soon as possible. When possible, provide at least 24 hours’ notice. This allows the appointment time to become available to another student.
If you cannot provide 24 hours’ notice, you should still cancel your appointment through Handshake.
Students who arrive more than 10 minutes late may need to reschedule. This helps ensure that students have enough time to browse, try on clothing, and make their selections during the scheduled appointment.
