UA Little Rock Community Programs provides ongoing social emotional learning in our partner schools- Bale, Watson, and Lacey, through consistent, school-based support. Our approach helps students build the skills they need to manage emotions, make positive choices, and succeed in the classroom and beyond.
What This Looks Like
Social emotional learning is not just something students are taught—it is something they practice every day. We support this through a combination of structured lessons and real-time support within the school environment.
We provide:
- SEL lessons aligned with CASEL and the Arkansas Department of Education G.U.I.D.E. for Life curriculum
- Small group and one-on-one support for students
- Classroom and school-wide support that strengthens culture and student engagement
- Additional tools and resources to support teachers in the classroom
Real-Time Support for Students
We recognize that many challenges students face in the classroom begin with difficulty managing emotions, navigating relationships, or responding to stress. Our work focuses on helping students build these skills in real time—so they are better equipped to handle challenges as they arise.
Supporting Teachers
In addition to working directly with students, we support teachers by providing strategies, tools, and resources that can be used throughout the school day. Our goal is not only to deliver social emotional learning, but to help integrate it into the classroom environment in a way that is consistent and sustainable.
