Wanda G. Hoover is Assistant Dean for External Relations for the William H. Bowen School of Law and is responsible for alumni relations and development. She brings to the position more than 20 years of senior-level management experience in the non-profit sector and 14 years in the financial services industry.
Prior to joining the law school, she served as director of development and marketing of the William J. Clinton Foundation, where she was responsible for programs and projects that supported the foundation’s global efforts. She also worked directly with the National Archives to develop world-class temporary exhibits at the Clinton Center, serving as the overseeing senior manager of programming, temporary exhibits, outreach, advertising, public relations and fundraising.
Hoover has also served as director of development and volunteer services at the Arkansas Repertory Theatre where she developed The Rep’s first all-inclusive fundraising program, managed large fundraising events, strategic planning, and board development. Her 14-year career in banking included time as vice president of Dominion Bank of Middle Tennessee in Nashville, Tenn.; Assistant Vice President at InterFirst Bank in Dallas as well as management positions at American Bank in Corpus Christi, Texas; and First National Bank of Jefferson Parish in Metairie, La.
Hoover attended Volunteer State in Tennessee and holds a banking and finance certificate from the Louisiana State University Graduate School of the South. She is actively engaged in community and civic organizations in Arkansas and was named Fundraising Professional of the Year 2013 by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Arkansas Chapter. She currently serves on the board of directors of the Downtown Partnership, the Rotary Club of Little Rock, and serves as the President of the Arkansas Women’s Leaderships Forum. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, AR Chapter, an alumna of the Leadership Greater Little Rock program (Class XX), and an active sustainer of the Junior League of Little Rock. She is a past board member of the Rotary Club of Little Rock Foundation Board, Women’s Foundation of Arkansas, Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Arkansas Baptist Foundation Board, Junior League of Little Rock, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Arkansas Women Executives and past co-chair of the Broyles Award for the Rotary Club of Little Rock. In 2019 she was received the Staff Excellence Award for Community Service, and in 2020 she was named Staff Member of the Year by the Hispanic Law Student Association.
