History
Introduced in the fall of 2017, the Signature Experience program is now in its third academic year. As a direct embodiment of UA Little Rock’s five strategic goals, the Signature Experience provides grant funding and faculty mentorship to support student success, research, and creative endeavors while fostering community engagement and global citizenship.
For the 2023 Signature Experience, graduate and undergraduate students may apply for a grant of up to $1,000 to support a research project, creative activity, or community service project that will contribute significantly to the student’s academic development.
Past projects have ranged across disciplines and included a review of tenant-landlord laws in Arkansas, a study of coral reef disease in the Bahamas, an analysis of gold nanoparticles for growing neural cells, an examination of cross-dressing on Shakespeare’s stage, and the entrepreneurial design and development of a transparent fishing box.
