Follow-up communication

Not too long ago, the thank-you note was a personal, hand-written card or a very short letter following a business format similar to the cover letter. In today’s competitive climate, that format could still be the most impressive. However, a well-written email suffices.

Thank you for taking the time to meet with me yesterday.  I enjoyed talking with you and your associates (by name). (Consider referring to something discussed in the meeting.)

I am really excited about your firm and look forward to hearing from you next week.
