Arkansas Public Administration Consortium awards 49 graduate certificates
University of Arkansas at Little RockNearly 50 people earned graduate certificates in public management, city planning, and volunteer management from the Arkansas Public Administration Consortium at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.A cooperative program of UA Little Rock, Arkansas State University, and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, the consortium has successfully trained and educated managers and leaders from the public and nonprofit sectors since 1984.The graduates were recognized during a May 17 ceremony at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion. John Thurston, commissioner of state lands, gave a keynote address titled “Leading with Purpose.” The Certified Public Manager program awarded Grant Tomlin, program coordinator for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, the Best Project Plan and Askew awards. His project was titled “Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Northwest Arkansas Shooting Sports Complex at Wedington Wildlife Management Area.”The consortium’s certificate programs include Certified Public Manager, Arkansas Governmental Manager, Certified Volunteer Manager, and Certified Arkansas Planning Official.Fourteen people received the Arkansas Governmental Manager graduate certificate, including:
