Scholars’ Sessions
Scholars’ Day activities will begin at 8:30 AM and 1:00 PM with the Talent Search Investigations. Students are given the opportunity to rank their session preferences when they RSVP for the Ceremony. We try to get everyone in their first choices, however all students are placed in a first come, first served basis.
2018 Sessions: American Sign Language, Designing the Internet for Tomorrow (IT), Nanotechnology, SIM Care Hospital (Nursing), World Changing Businesses, Positive Social Media Footprint, and Communication for Leaders.
Session assignments will be posted on the windows to the theater lobby. If you do not see your name, come inside to the Mahony Center table and speak to a representative.
Students arriving more than 10 minutes after the start of sessions will not be able to attend.
Students will meet in the Center for Performing Arts at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and join their group leader. During this time parents participate in an informational question and answer session on topics of interest to the families of talented children and adolescents.
Should you have any questions concerning Scholars’ Session please contact the Mahony Center at (501) 569-3410 for assistance.
Arkansas Recognition Ceremonies
These will be held in May at 10:00 AM and 2:30 PM in the Center for Performing Arts at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Due to the large Talent Search students who meet the State level qualifying score criteria Arkansas holds two ceremonies on the same day.
Should your student need to attend a ceremony other than the one they were assigned or did not send in their RSVP card please contact the Duke TIP Office at (919) 668-9100 for assistance.
