Procedures for Accessible Parking for Students

For accessible parking at UA Little Rock, you must:

  1. have a valid state-issued Arkansas disability hang tag or license plate issued in your name; or
  2. have a Disabled Veteran License plate (that begins with DV or DAV) issued in your name; or
  3. obtain a Temporary Accessible Parking Hang Tag from the UA Little Rock Disability Resource Center (DRC).

Once you have completed the process below, your UA Little Rock ID will be activated to grant you access to the requested accessible parking lots within 48 hours.

Steps to Obtain Accessible Parking at UA Little Rock

Individuals who have state accessible parking permits (category 1 or 2 above) will need to:

  • Complete the Accessible Parking Application
  • Bring the following to the DRC:
    • Drivers license,
    • UA Little Rock ID, and
    • state-issued hangtag (or a copy) OR registration form (for license plate that indicates disability)

Individuals requesting Temporary Accessible Parking Hang Tag from the DRC (category 3 above):

Individuals who are recovering from an injury, illness, or surgery should have their physician write a letter to the DRC indicating the diagnosis (such as ‘inability to walk one block without difficulty’) and the duration accessible parking will be needed (up to 3 months).  You will need to:

  • Complete the Accessible Parking Application
  • Bring the following to the DRC:
    • Drivers license, and
    • UA Little Rock ID
    • Letter from physician as described above

You will be issued a Temporary Accessible Parking Hang Tag in Disability Resource Center.

Students who have accessible parking certification are asked not to park in the visitors’ lots or the circular drive next to Administration South. Those spaces are for visitors with disabilities. Any employees who are requesting Temporary Accessible Parking will need to contact Human Resources at 501-916-3180.
