The information and data sciences disciplines are rapidly expanding thanks to the demand for new innovations in information retrieval, storage, and analysis. The Graduate Certificate in Data Science will help to fill this demand by giving students and professionals the necessary training and skills. This program is designed for post-baccalaureate students and working professionals who are interested in moving into advanced data solution developers and data analyst leadership roles. The graduate certificate also prepares students for master’s programs.
This program is offered both in-person and fully online through UA Little Rock Online. In addition, a distance education option allows students to participate via live webcasting.
Students completing the Graduate Certificate in Data Science are expected to achieve the following abilities:
- Students will be able to create, manipulate, and extract patterns from data sets, and to discuss the validity of various tools and the results obtained in a given data analysis problem.
- Students will be able to design and assess information manipulation processes for maintaining effective protection and privacy of data.
- Students will be able to use visualization techniques to display, understand, and communicate information.
