Read and publish agreements (sometimes referred to as transformative agreements) provide university researchers with subscription access to a publisher’s scholarly content. University researchers are also able to publish their research in these journals and make them available immediately open access (OA) without paying the typical article processing charges (APC).
Article processing charges are covered for researchers who are the corresponding author and choose to publish open access in journals under the publishers who have an agreement with the UA Little Rock Ottenheimer Library. Those publishers are listed below.
- Association of Computing Machinery (ACM Open) – current agreement through 2024
- Cambridge University Press – current agreement through 2026
- Springer (excludes Nature-branded titles and Springer Fully OA journals) – current agreement through 2027
- SPIE (International Society for Optics and Photonics) – 25% discount on APC’s – current agreement through 2025
A summary spreadsheet of titles available through these agreements is available for university researchers. Please consult the available title lists at the publishers’ websites for the most complete and accurate information.
When submitting articles to the publishers, university researchers typically only need to use their university email address for correspondence to confirm their affiliation.
