Our mission is to foster intellectual growth and innovative creation by UA Little Rock scholars.

We do this by:

Values

Access

We aim to provide the most up-to-date resources and services, and making them open and accessible to our patrons. Access is what we do, it is the purpost of our profession and is a vital part of hour we provide service to our community.

Respect

Respect encourages us to have meaningful conversations with ourselves and our community. When we embody respect, we offer a place for people to share their feelings safely, to be heard, to honor how they want to be treated, and the space to tell us how. Respect is the foundation of our organization.

Service

Service is a simple gesture, a moment of gratitude, the lifting of another, and a prioritization of community. When we live in service, we offer our hand out to support one another, be available to them, be calm in uncertainity, and strive to serve the mission. Service is our motto, our promise to ourselves and our community.

Excellence

We are excellent wehn we make room for failure, when we cultivate curiosity, when we seek our best practices, and when we anticipate the needs of our community. We strive for excellence in everything we do, not because it is asked of us, but because it is the right thing to do. When we focus on excellence, we embody all of our values. When you think of the Ottenheimer Library, know that excellence is the standard.
