Minor Programs

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers two Minors.  To declare one of these minors, students should contact their advisor in their major department.

The Mathematics minor requires:

  • MATH 1451 – Calculus I
  • MATH 1452 – Calculus II
  • MATH 2310 – Discrete Mathematics
  • MATH 2453 – Calculus III
  • 3 hour upper level MATH elective
  • 3 hour upper level MATH or STAT elective

The Statistics minor requires

  • MATH 1223 – Intro to Mathematics Software
  • MATH 1451 – Calculus I
  • MATH 1452 – Calculus II
  • STAT 3350 – Introduction to Probability
  • STAT 3352 – Applied Statistics I
  • STAT 3353 – Applied Statistics II
  • STAT 3351 – Statistical Inference OR
    • STAT 4352 – Distribution Free Statistical Methods OR
      • 3 hours approved upper level MATH or STAT elective
