The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers three minors. To declare one of these minors, students should contact their advisor in their major department.
Mathematics Minor
The mathematics minor requires 18 hours of coursework including six hours of upper-level mathematics and/or statistics:
- MATH 24004 – Calculus I
- MATH 25004 – Calculus II
- MATH 26103 – Discrete Mathematics
- MATH 26004 – Calculus III
- 3 hour upper level MATH elective
- 3 hour upper level MATH or STAT elective
Statistics Minor
The minor in statistics is designed for students who wish to apply their mathematical training in any of the many fields that employ statistics. It requires at least 12 hours of statistics courses.
