University Scholarships
Applying for scholarships at UA Little Rock is an important part of your college journey. Incoming freshmen and transfer students only need to apply for admission to UA Little Rock in order to be considered for most of our institutional scholarships (institutional scholarships are the ones that come from the university).
CHPR Scholarships
Barbara E. Northup Memorial Scholarship for Interpreter Education
Awarded to students majoring in Interpretation: ASL/English. The recipient shall maintain a GPA of 3.00 or above. The recipient shall have met the program benchmarks at each level (SLPI and/or QAST).
Jerry and Teresa Elkins Endowed Award
Awarded to full-time or part-time student majoring in Master of Education in Counselor Education. The recipient must have had a GPA of 3.00 or above in Undergraduate coursework. Preference will be given to students residing in Sharp or Independence County, Arkansas, and financial need will be considered.
Marguerite Flake Scholarship
Awarded to full-time or part-time students with preference given to applicants who show a sincere commitment to the field of education as a life-long career. Preference will be given to undergraduates or graduates majoring in the teaching of reading or special education.
Trebing Graduate Assistant Fund
Awarded to graduate students pursuing a master’s degree in Orientation and Mobility Instruction, Rehabilitation Teaching, or Classroom Teaching of the Visually Handicapped.
Student Success Resources
Tutoring – A host of tutoring services for students.
Student Success Coaches – Student success coaches offer students one-on-one support with time management, test-taking strategies, note-taking skills, connecting with faculty, and campus involvement.

Blackboard Support & Training – Students use Blackboard to take fully online courses or to submit assignments for face-to-face or hybrid courses. All Blackboard users need regular access to a computer with stable broadband Internet, and have basic computer skills, such as emailing, word processing, and navigating the web.
CARE Team – Exists to assist current UA Little Rock students with situations that can potentially disrupt a student’s academic progress.
Learning Commons – Students are welcome to use computers, group study rooms, dry-erase boards, desks, tables, and hang-out areas.
Ottenheimer Library – Help with research, instruction, academic success, and more.
Bookstore – In person or online shopping for books, technology, apparel, and student supplies.
University Learning Assistant Program – Learn more about LAP and apply to become a Learning Assistant.
Office of TRIO Student Support Services – Provides services to a limited number of eligible students to increase participants’ college persistence, support them through graduation, and facilitate the transition from one level of higher education to the next.
Office of PEAW First Year Experience – First Year Colloquium courses are designed to help first-year college students transition into UA Little Rock.
Office of TRIO McNair Scholars.- McNair Scholars receive support along the path toward their graduate school enrollment.
Academic Student Complaints – Students are encouraged to seek informal resolution at the department level when possible. After exhausting the department or informal complaint process, students may file a formal complaint with the university.
Grade Appeals – Students may appeal final course grades, results of capstone experiences, comprehensive and qualifying examinations, defenses, and other graded program requirements. The grade appeal process must be initiated by the student within 20 class days from the date the grade is awarded.
