IT Services manages a large portfolio of applications for the university. Finding out information about any single application can be confusing, especially for new employees and students.

Use these links to learn what each application does, who can use it, how to log in, and how to get support.

Blackboard is a web-based course management software used by instructors to build and manage their online classes.

UA Little RockBOSS
BOSS is a self-service information system used by UALR employees and students to update personal information, change passwords, and view academic and financial records.

ConfluenceConfluence
Confluence is a wiki—a collaboration tool used to build, organize, and share internal documentation. The content stored here is primarily meant to be accessed and managed only by people with a university log-in account (e.g., the NetID), but information may also be made publicly available.

UA Little RockDegree Works
Degree Works is a web-based academic advising and degree audit tool that helps students and their advisers successfully navigate degree requirements. Using this tool, students can easily identify courses that are required for each term throughout their academic career, and bring them towards their goal of graduation day.

Google GmailGmail
Your university email account is the primary means of official communication. It is necessary for all students and employees to use their university email accounts to receive emergency alerts, registration and billing information, campus announcements, and other critical notices.

Google CalendarGoogle Calendar
Use Google Calendar to schedule meetings by inviting anyone with an email address. You can set up meeting reminders, check for conflicts with other UALR users, and share your calendar with others.

Google DriveGoogle Drive
Google Drive—along with associated productivity apps like Docs, Sheets, and Slides—allows you to create and store files that can be accessed anywhere, and then share those files with others instead of attaching them to emails. You can also collaborate with other users on the same document in real-time.

Google GroupsGoogle Groups
Google Groups makes it easy for groups of people—such as project teams, departments, or classmates—to communicate and collaborate. You can send an email to everyone in a group with one address, invite a group to an event, or share documents with a group.

Google MeetGoogle Meet
Google Meet is a video conferencing service that enables you to join virtual meetings via audio, video, chat, and screen sharing with up to 100 people with no time limits. Telephone dial-in to a U.S. phone number is provided; dial-out is free to the United States and Canada.

LISTSERV is the mailing list software used to manage university email lists for discussion, marketing, distribution, and announcements.

Microsoft ExcelMicrosoft Excel
Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program included in the Microsoft Office suite of applications. With Office 365, you are able to download the application to your hard drive and will also have access to the online version. The online version gives you the capability to share and collaborate with others on your files in real-time.

Microsoft 365Microsoft 365
Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) is a communication and collaboration service hosted by Microsoft offered to current students and employees for personal use. Office 365 allows users to install Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, and OneNote applications on their local computers, as well as access to the online versions of the software.

Microsoft OneDriveMicrosoft OneDrive
Microsoft OneDrive is a cloud storage, file hosting service with up to one TB of space that allows users to sync files and later access them from a web browser or mobile device.

Microsoft OneNoteMicrosoft OneNote
Microsoft OneNote is a computer program for free-form information gathering and multi-user collaboration. It gathers users’ notes (handwritten or typed), drawings, screen clippings, and audio commentaries. Notes can be shared with other OneNote users over the Internet or a network. This is a great tool for organizing your classes or your daily activities.

Microsoft OutlookMicrosoft Outlook
Microsoft Outlook is a personal information manager from Microsoft, available as a part of the Microsoft Office suite. While Outlook is often used mainly as an email application, it also includes a calendar, task manager, contact manager, note taker, journal, and web browser.

Microsoft PowerPointMicrosoft PowerPoint
Microsoft PowerPoint is a powerful slide show presentation program. It is a standard component of the company’s Microsoft Office suite software, and is bundled together with Word, Excel, and other office productivity tools. The program uses slides to convey information rich in multimedia. The term slide refers to the old slide projector, which this software effectively replaces.

The Microsoft Software Center provides a large catalog of software you can install on your Active Directory domain-joined computer as needed.

Microsoft WordMicrosoft Word
Microsoft Word is a word processing program that allows for the creation of both simple and complex documents. With Office 365, you are able to download the application to your hard drive and will also have access to the online version. The online version gives you the capability to share and collaborate with others on your files in real-time.

UA Little RockWired Public Ports
There are a number of wired network ports available throughout the main UA Little Rock campus in multiple public areas, conference rooms, and classrooms. Current students and employees may plug into these public ports to access campus and internet services.

The wireless network provides current students, recent graduates, current employees, and UA Little Rock guests with access to both campus and internet services.

Zoom video conferencing helps the university expand traditional classrooms to meet the growing needs of learners.
