Ottenheimer Library Recognizes Latara Williams with Karen Russ Research Award

Latara Williams, a UA Little Rock Applied Communication graduate student, received the 2026 Karen Russ Memorial Award for Excellence in Research for her study, Resilient Voices: Exploring African American Patient Experiences with Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs). Dr. Gerald Driskill served as her faculty mentor. Williams presented her research at the 2026 Research Expo which was Ottenheimer Library Recognizes Latara Williams with Karen Russ Research Award

Open Research for All: UA Little Rock’s New Wiley Partnership

High publishing costs shouldn’t stand between research and the world. To bridge this gap, the Ottenheimer Library is proud to announce a “Read and Publish” agreement with Wiley, what was effective as of January 1, 2026. Why This Matters Typically, publishing Open Access (OA) requires expensive Article Processing Charges (APCs). Under this new deal, those fees are fully covered for Open Research for All: UA Little Rock’s New Wiley Partnership

UPDATE: The Ottenheimer Library will remain closed on Monday, January 26, Tuesday, January 27, Wednesday, January 28, Thursday, January 29, and Friday, January 30, 2026. Due to predicted winter weather conditions, the Ottenheimer Library will be closed Saturday, January 24 and Sunday, January 25. The library will resume operations when the campus reopens.
