Steps to Apply

The School of Social Work graduates more social work students than any other social work program in Arkansas and is one of the fastest-growing programs at UA Little Rock.

Apply to the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Program

Step 1: Apply to UA Little Rock. Transfer students and post-baccalaureate students must first apply for admission to the university.
Step 2: Apply to the BSW Program Application available November – March 1

To complete the BSW application, you will need:

  • A copy of your unofficial transcript
  • Respond to BSW Personal Statement Questions within the application
  • Email addresses for three professional, volunteer, or academic references, including Intro to Social Work instructor

Application deadline: March 1 (application available November – March 1)


Apply to the Master of Social Work (MSW) Program

Step 1: Apply to the UA Little Rock Graduate School
Step 2: Submit your application to the Master of Social Work program between November – March 1

To complete the MSW application, you will need:

  • A copy of your unofficial transcript
  • Respond to MSW Personal Statement Questions within the application
  • Email addresses for three professional, volunteer, or academic references

Application Deadlines:

Summer Admission (Advanced Standing only) –  March 1
Fall Admission – March 1


Apply to the Advanced Standing (Accelerated) Master of Social Work

This program is only available to students with a BSW within the last 5 years, with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Step 1: Apply to the UA Little Rock Graduate School.
Step 2: Submit your application to the Master Social Work Advanced Standing program (application available November – March 1)

To complete the application, you will need:

  • A copy of your unofficial transcript
  • Current email address for your BSW field instructor for an in-depth field reference
  • Email addresses for two professional, volunteer, or academic references

Application Deadlines:

Full-time (Summer term) –  March 1
Part-time (Fall term) –  March 1
