Choosing a college is one of the most important decisions a family will ever make. As a parent or guardian, you want to ensure that the university your child attends is the right fit, from academics and cost to location and campus atmosphere.
UA Little Rock offers more than 130 undergraduate degree options in five colleges – Arts, Letters, and Sciences; Business; Engineering and Information Technology; Social Sciences and Communication; and Education and Health Professions. We also offer more than a dozen pre-professional programs in many health-related fields.
Our nationally recognized faculty help students pursue their interests with passion, leading to research and internship opportunities and, upon graduation, a successful career.
UA Little Rock provides enormous value as one of the most affordable institutions in Arkansas. In-state tuition is very competitive, and financial assistance in the form of scholarships, work study, and grants is the norm for our students. In fact, our students received more than $1.1 million in financial aid and scholarships in the 2013 school year.
We’re investing in your student, too, and see our role as guiding influences to help your child reach his or her academic goals. We do this by advising from Day 1, providing opportunities for internships and research, and setting up career connections to help produce successful outcomes.
We take pride in being a safe campus that embraces a sense of community. We’re all Trojans who look out for one another here, through the Green Dot program and other safety initiatives. Our Department of Public Safety is dedicated to providing a full range of police services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Living on campus is having a home away from home. Our residence hall directors create a safe, secure environment by fostering a sense of community. From game nights and talent shows to study sessions and team projects, there is always an activity to keep your student engaged.
Each of the four residence halls (North, South, East, and West) and the new University Village are equipped with such amenities as furnished rooms, internet access, cable connections, and reserved student parking. And let’s not forget about laundry, fitness and recreation areas, and the UA Little Rock Dining Experience. The Commons Market and Trojan Grill ensure that your student has the essentials as well as a late-night study/snack spot. West Hall was designed with freshmen in mind. The pod-style floors and low resident assistant to student ratio offer plenty of resources and support to first-year students.
Named by Kiplinger’s as the #1 Best Place to Live in the U.S. in 2013, Little Rock offers big-city amenities with a small-town feel. It’s home to the world’s most extensive presidential archives, a minor league baseball team, and the world’s longest purely pedestrian bridge. UA Little Rock is just minutes away from the natural beauty that is Pinnacle Mountain State Park, and right down the road from arts, culture, and top-rated restaurants.
