College Board wants to inform you the application to apply for 2024 AP® Summer Institute (APSI) Scholarship opens on December 18, 2023. Application deadline is February 12, 2024.
These scholarships cover the tuition and lab fees (where applicable) for attending an APSI. APSIs offer Online and In Person, intensive professional development programs where educators can network with peers and learn about tools and resources that inspire success in their Advanced Placement® classrooms.
College Board is offering three competitive scholarship programs for AP teachers
AP Fellows Scholarship: AP Fellows scholarships are awarded to teachers at high schools serving minority and/or low-income students who have been traditionally underrepresented in AP courses.
- Scholarship amount: $1,000 max*
- Eligible AP subjects: All AP subjects except AP Capstone (Seminar and Research)
AP Rural Fellows: AP Rural Fellows scholarships are awarded to teachers working in rural areas of the country, as defined by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). (all islands of Hawaii, except Oahu, will be considered “rural” regardless of the NCES data).
- Scholarship amount: $1,500 max*
- Eligible AP subjects: All AP subjects except AP Capstone (Seminar and Research)
AP Capstone: For teachers who are planning to attend the AP Capstone summer professional development event.
- Scholarship amount by way of a Fee Waiver code to cover the cost of tuition*
- Eligible AP subjects: ONLY AP Capstone (Seminar and Research)
*Please note: Scholarship only covers the cost of tuition and lab fees (if applicable) up to the scholarship amount; all other APSI costs, including but not limited to tuition cost above scholarship amount, lodging, and food, are the responsibility of the scholarship recipient and should be billed to the scholarship recipient, not College Board.

Please Note: If you are awarded an APSI Scholarship from College Board, you will need to choose that payment method during registration and then forward the award letter from College Board to apsi-registration@ualr.edu. (You would receive notification of your award sometime between March 22 and April 30.)
Another Note: The College Board Scholarship is not the same thing as the ADE grant funds for Arkansas Public and Charter School teachers. There is no application for the ADE grant funds. If you are unsure about which one you should be using please contact Lori Delk at ladelk@ualr.edu.
