ATLE Lunch & Learn: Social annotation and online engagement

Social annotation has the potential to enhance personal reflection and collaboration among learners who read a shared scholarly resource. Instructors can use social annotation as a tool to demonstrate the role of dialogue in critical thinking. The purpose of this presentation is to discuss what social annotation is, the various social annotation tools, and ways in which they can assist in creating social presence and student engagement in online, face-to-face, and hybrid classes.
