The UALR Institute for Chief Data Officers is pleased to announce that Dr. Hongyun Zhang and Dr. Jiayin Wang have joined the Institute as Research Faculty from China.
Dr. Hongyun Zhang is an Assistant Professor at the School of Management, Xi’an Jiaotong University in China. She is also a founding member of the International Society of Chief Data Officer (isCDO).
Dr. Zhang has successfully completed the CDO-1 Foundations for Chief Data Officers Certificate Program at UALR Institute for Chief Data Officers in September 2016. She has also successfully completed the Information Quality Certification Program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge Massachusetts in 2012. She has been a member of the MIT CDO research team since 2012. Dr. Zhang is the co-author of “A Cubic Framework for the Chief Data Officer: succeeding in a world of big data” published at MIS Quarterly Executive in 2014.
Dr. Zhang was a visiting scholar at D’Amore-McKim School of Business, Northeastern University in 2014. She was supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and China Post-doctor Science Foundation (CPSF) on CDO research. Her research is focused mainly on Chief Data Officers, Information Quality and Data Governance.
Dr. Jiaying Wang is Professor and Vice Director at the Institute of Data Science and Information Quality, Shaanxi Engineering Research Center of Medical and Health Big Data, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an, Shaanxi, China. Dr. Wang received his PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Connecticut in May 2013. He has successfully completed the CDO-1 Foundations for Chief Data Officers Certificate Program at UALR Institute for Chief Data Officers in September 2016. In addition, he successfully completed the Information Quality Certification Program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge Massachusetts in 2012. Dr. Wang has published several journal and conference papers.
His research is mainly focused on the data quality and data pipeline management in clinical genomics with a special emphasis on the managerial aspect, such as the extension of the roles of CDOs in hospitals to enhance the pipeline quality, which can provide a substantial benefit to physicians.
Dr. Zhang and Dr. Wang will cooperate with current iCDO Faculty on different research topics related to Chief Data Officers and Information Quality.
The Institute is extending a warm welcome to both Dr. Zhang and Dr. Wang. We look forward to cooperating with them to achieve the highest quality CDO research.
