Christine Cotton, Director – Extended Education
Christine Cotton holds an M.A. in Romance Languages & Literatures from the University of Michigan with a concentration in Spanish Linguistics and a B.A. in both Spanish and Anthropology from the University of Virginia. She is a Senior Instructor in the Department of World Languages. For more than 25 years she has been employed as an Instructor of Spanish; in this capacity she has created innovative and engaging courses/materials to keep up with the ever-changing landscape of higher education, including a Spanish textbook for medical professionals, A Su Salud, participated and collaborated in curriculum development and implementation, including a college-access program for academically talented high school students in Alamance County, NC with a financial need and/or no family history of college, served as coordinator of a foreign language education program, established and fostered a variety of educational experiences outside of the classroom, engaged with the business community to cultivate and grow internship opportunities, as well as organized, supervised and led study abroad experiences.
