About Dr. Grimes:

Born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, Dr. Justin Grimes developed a commitment to equity, storytelling, and service. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems with a minor in African American Studies, and Master’s degree in Workforce Development Education with an emphasis on Human Resource Education, all from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, and he completed his Ph.D. in Counseling and Student Personnel Services (College Student Affairs Administration) at the University of Georgia.

Dr. Grimes has over 12 years of experience working in Student and Academic Affairs, teaching, customer service, recruitment, and consulting. As a scholar, Justin’s research centers on mentorship, successful dissertation completion strategies, the impact of racism on college students, motivation, and embracing identity and differences. He has received several awards both as a student and professional for outstanding leadership, service, and mentorship.
